Celebrate the city in its newest public space -- Cherry Street Pier! Get a chance to explore the last publically accessible pier, take in the AMAZING view, and enjoy some happy hour drinks. Best of all -- Festival for the People will have its CREOS interactive light exhibition, video wall, and banners at both Cherry Street Pier and Race Street Pier.
From 5:30-7:30, the bar will be serving up happy hour prices with two special #whyilovephilly cocktails, one made with Manatawny Still Works whiskey, which is one of my favorite local spirits and tasting rooms. Little Baby's Ice Cream will be introducing some special #whyilovephilly toppings -- Goldenberg's Peanut Chews, Tastykake Krimpets, and soft pretzels -- and Cooperage and Hardena will also be getting into the Philly-love spirit. DJ Eric Boss repping Tiny Room for Elephants will be spinning for most of the evening, so relax, bundle up, enjoy a drink and some dinner, and meet new awesome people.
Can't make it on the 18th? Cherry Street Pier opens to the public on October 12th and will be open year-round. Festival for the People will run from October 12-28.
Of note for the Happy Hour:
- Bundle up! It's gonna be cold and the pier doesn't have heating. Plus, the best seat in the house is in the garden and by the river.
- Feel free to bring the pups! We're dog-friendly.
- As a heads up, you're going to have to get a patron card. It's no sweat but it does mean that there may be a bit of a line initially at the bar.
- COME HUNGRY! Our food vendors are going to be there and they are awesome. They sell delicious treats including some #whyilovephilly specialties that you should try.
- Tip the bar staff!! It's a happy hour! They're the best.
- Say hi!!!
